Accredited Tier Designer
The Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) program is a comprehensive training course for design professionals to enhance their understanding of the practical application of the Tiers, including misconceptions and common misapplications. The Uptime Institute’s Tier Classification System continues to provide the international language of data center functionality and availability, owners consistently specify Tier goals in requirements documents and contracts.
ATD is another means provided by the Uptime Institute for data center owners to protect their significant project investment. ATD helps owners differentiate design firms in a highly competitive and dynamic marketplace. Years in business, market presence, and annual revenue do not directly translate to the capability to develop Tier compliant solutions. ATD informs and empowers owners in the selection of the right team, those design professionals that truly understand the Tier Classification System.
This ATD course responds to a) the fact that the Tier Classification System is increasingly propagated in data center projects across the globe and b) consistent feedback from the engineering community that the Tier Classification white paper in and of itself does not provide a sufficient initiation point for a detailed design solution.
